Let’s Talk About the One Thing No One Wants to Talk About…
Hi there,
Can we talk about money for a second?
Not in the “let’s brag about our revenue” way. Not in the “manifest abundance” kind of way. And definitely not in the “how to get rich in 10 days” kind of way either. I mean, really talk about money—what it means when you're building something real.
Because here's the truth: money gets awkward.
We avoid talking about it. We whisper about it. We make it taboo.
And in the world of entrepreneurship, we either pretend we have too much of it or way too little. Either way—it’s a problem.
Now let me be clear:
I’m not here to judge how much money you have, how you spend it, or how much you want to make. I’ve worked with brands at every stage—from shoestring budgets to “let’s launch with fireworks and a full orchestra.” My job isn’t to count your pennies. It’s to help you get real about what it takes to grow.
Because building a brand without investing in it is like buying a car and refusing to put gas in it. You’re not going to get very far… and pushing it uphill gets exhausting.
Let’s Get Real About the Cost of Growth
We live in a world where everything is expected to be fast, viral, and free. But the truth? Good marketing costs money.
Not because people like me are trying to “upsell” you… but because strategy, execution, creative, and consistency all take real work and real resources.
And yet—so many brands go into launch mode without allocating a single dollar for marketing. They pour all their budget into product development, packaging, or their website... and then they sit back and wait for the sales to roll in.
Guess what happens? Crickets.
Because no one knows you're there.
And when no one knows you're there, you don't have a brand. You have a very expensive secret.
I Get It—Money Can Feel Scary
Especially if you’ve been burned before. Maybe you hired a freelancer who disappeared. Maybe you threw some dollars into ads that didn’t convert. Maybe you’re still wondering why that “guru” you found on YouTube didn’t magically turn your business into a 7-figure empire.
So now, you're cautious. I get it. I’ve been there. But let me tell you this:
Caution is wise. Avoidance is dangerous.
Growth won’t happen if you're only willing to invest once you're already successful. And that’s where so many brands get stuck—in the cycle of waiting to be ready.
Don’t Need to Spend Like a Fortune 500 Company
You just need to spend smart.
Start with a strategy. Understand your audience. Focus on what moves the needle. Invest in consistency over chaos. Hire people who are in it with you—not just for the paycheck.
But most importantly, understand that marketing isn’t optional. It’s the heartbeat of your brand. It’s how people find you, connect with you, and trust you. And if you’re not budgeting for it, you’re not setting yourself up for success.
So, What Does This All Mean?
It means that it’s time to stop seeing money as a problem and start seeing it as a tool.
Not every dollar is spent equally. Some dollars are wasted (we’ve all been there), and others are the seeds of real growth. My job—and the job of any great strategist—is to help you plant the right ones in the right soil.
So no shame. No shade. No judgment.
Just an invitation to get honest about what you want… and what it’ll really take to get there.
See you next week,
Lara
